Site Description
A council owned and operated single storey open air car park south of the Water Gardens, between the River Gade and Leighton Buzzard Road, Hemel Hempstead.
Access to the Moor End Car Park is from Leighton Buzzard Road with exits on the same street.
It occupies a central location within the town centre, halfway between the Old Town to the north and the primary retail area to the south. It is 10 minutes by bus to Hemel Hempstead railway station and walking distance to surrounding residential areas and town centre amenities.
The overall size of the site is approximately 380ft by 115ft.
Dacorum Borough Council is in the process of commissioning a Master Plan for Hemel Hempstead Town Centre, which will be the subject of public consultation. Any proposals for the Town Centre Car Park sites, including the Moor End site, will be considered as part of the development of a wider Master Plan for Hemel Hempstead town centre. Proposals will also need to consider the parking requirements that will inform the business case for the proposed Hemel Health Campus on Market Square. The Dacorum Investment Partnership will support this work by carrying out initial feasibility work on the Moor End Car Park.
