Site Description
The Hatfield Innovation Campus, also known as Marshmoor, aims to establish a nationally recognised innovation and technology campus within the London-Cambridge 'science corridor'. It is situated in Welham Green, next to the Welham Green railway station.
The campus is set to provide approximately 435,000 sq.ft of commercial workspace, primarily targeting sectors such as biotechnology, life sciences, and research and development. In addition to the employment spaces, the development plans include around 100 residential units intended to support those working on-site, fostering a live-and-work community.
The development will prioritise several core principles, including the establishment of a nationally recognised innovation and technology campus, the creation of a rich and climate-responsive bio diverse landscape, and the development of a well-connected neighbourhood that promotes active and sustainable travel. Additionally, it will ensure the campus is a well-integrated and considerate neighbour to the existing community, while also serving as a model of high-quality design and sustainability.
