Site Description

The development is a significant strategic initiative aimed at expanding the Hatfield area with a sustainable, mixed-use community. As outlined in the Welwyn Hatfield Local Plan, this development is set to deliver approximately 1,750 homes, complemented by new primary and secondary schools, a neighbourhood centre, retail and employment spaces, and extensive green open areas. 

To guide this development, a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been prepared collaboratively by the landowner, Gascoyne Estates, alongside officers from Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council and Hertfordshire County Council. This SPD establishes key principles for the site's development, ensuring integration with the broader Hatfield area and promoting comprehensive planning for a sustainable community. 

This development represents a substantial addition to Hatfield, aiming to create a well-connected, high-quality community that aligns with the area's growth objectives and sustainability priorities.
